A model certificate of attendance can be found in the annex to the Austrian legal basis. The last page of this document provides a form that lists the minimum content of a confirmation of passing the training.

There are no recognised training programmes in Austria, instead the legal basis (§ 19 Schiffsbetriebsverordnung RIS - Schiffsbetriebsverordnung § 19 - Bundesrecht konsolidiert (bka.gv.at)) demands, that the basic safety training is to be carried out by the company that would like to employ the person applying for the deckhand qualification.

The training has to be carried out by qualified instructors on a craft or a suitable shore facility, so that the practical elements of the training in particular can be taught under realistic conditions. There are many other approved providers in Germany. However, these wish to provide basic safety training only for their own staff. Therefore, these providers are not published.
